Insulheat Flooring Goods

InsulHeat can be installed successfully with a wide range of flooring goods. InsulHeat is not designed to be used as an exposed surface except during construction. You will see that there are a variety of attachments and underlayments presented below.

One design consideration relates to the type of compression and impact that a floor may be exposed to. Exposed InsulHeat is rated to 55psi under testing performed under ASMXXXX. Certain flooring goods can be applied directly over InsulHeat while others are better suited to the use of a cement backerboard underlayment as demonstrated below. A Backerboard underlayment provides many advantages with one being a dramatic increase in both compression, deflection and impact resistance if required.

The compression rating of bare InsulHeat is more than suitable for most residential applications. However, here are certain residential point load conditions, such as high heel shoes and very heavy furniture and others in commercial applications where a higher compression and impact strength are warranted.
