Options for Variable Spacing

The design of InsulHeat incorporates flexible spacing of radiant ½” radiant tubing of 8” or 16” PERT tubing spacing according to design requirements for high or lower output heat output.

• 8” Spacing: Used in conditions where high output is required and lowest supply water temperatures are desirable and especially where even heat spread is desired over hard flooring surfaces for comfort and warm floors.
• 16” Spacing: However, in many modern homes with low heat losses, particularly away from windows and glass doors, wider tube spacing of 16” can be more than enough heat to meet the load.

Design Considerations
While wider 16” OC spacing may easily meet the heat load requirements in certain rooms and in areas away from window and doors, the wider spacing may result is stripping experienced on the floor if higher supply water temperatures are employed, sometimes experienced with tile and harder finished flooring goods.
